The Dignity Program is our effort to provide information, education and support for the many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals struggling with addiction and/or emotional issues.

Realization Center has created and maintains an atmosphere of safety and comfort so necessary to anyone who is troubled and seeks assistance.  Our mission is to reach out with a loving, empowering set of solutions.

The Dignity Program is staffed by CSWs, CASACs. MDs who are experts in the fields of substance abuse, mental health and sexuality.  All are trained to provide gay-affirming. compassionate and comprehensive care.

A 12-Step philosophy is an inherent part of the clinical program while group therapy, individual counseling, chemical dependency education and partner involvement constitute the psychodynamic core of the Center's approach.

TREATMENT PLAN

At Realization Center an individual treatment plan is prepared for each client based on the individual intake assessment, psychiatric/medical assessment, family and workplace feedback, where applicable, as well as case conference findings.

Depending on your unique needs, you may participate in group therapy and individual counseling, from one to six times a week.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

One-on-one sessions with a psychotherapist are intended to help a patient understand how his or her sexuality has affected his or her life.  For example, patients who believe they have little control in their lives may try to feel in control through abusive sexual behaviors as a way to repress memories or cope with fears.

PARTNER/FAMILY SERVICES

Believing that recovery affects the partnership, Realization Center regularly offers partner and family therapy.  It is an opportunity for partners and families to gain a better understanding of the recovery process.

Partners and other family members are expected to participate in the treatment process.  The partners program includes individual and group counseling, educational workshops, couples therapy and psychiatric evaluations.

REFERRAL PROCEDURE

Clients may refer themselves to Realization Center or be referred by public and private agencies, family members, or by other treatment service providers.  The first contact can be made by telephone with the intake coordinator.  An appointment will then be scheduled for a complete Psycho Social Assessment usually within twenty-four hours.  Walk-ins are also accepted.
